A light, tasty treat is Goblin’s taco chicken salad. You will need:

Skinless chicken breasts

Cut the chicken breasts into small strips, cook with the salsa in a saucepan on medium heat until the chicken is cooked (about 10 mins). Mix this with the greens and cheese in a large bowl and mix ranch dressing with the rest of the salsa. You can throw in some tortilla chips and sour cream to make it a little crunchy.

Another interesting treat is brain cell delight. You will need:

Jell-O

Cottage cheese

Blueberry soup

Mix the Jello with water and put it in a bowl. Chill in the refrigerator. Mix the blueberry soup with the cottage cheese until well blended. Give it a graying color with food coloring. Now, take out the jello and cut into slices, put it on a plate and add the blended mixture.

Make a mummy hotdog, it will be fun! You’ ll need:

Cook all the contents and let it cool. Use the rest of the ingredients and mix them together. This will form the crust. Bake the crust.

Pour the filling into the crust and cover with the rest of the crust mixture. Bake for 45 minutes. Let it cool on a pie rack and refrigerate it.

Fun games are always the best part of a party. Apple bobbing is the best game and you can play by making apples on a stick. You can make them by rinsing the apples and patting them dry. Remove the stem and replace with a Popsicle stick. Roll in peanut butter, dried cranberries and shredded coconut. Enjoy!

Your guests are sure to have a great time with these delicious, fun snacks that you prepare. They’re also easy to make and won’t leave your kitchen messy. A good tip is to write the names of each of your snacks on a small card in front of its dish. If people really like, offer them the recipe.

Halloween Lantern Activity

A Halloween lantern adds nice touch to your lawn during Halloween. The best part is that they are really affordable. The supplies you will need are:

Metal scissors

Paint

Light

Black marker

Wood

Empty paint canisters

Draw a witch’s face on the canisters and then make small holes over it. Then paint the canister with whatever colors you like. Good Halloween colors are black, orange and red. Nail the top portion with a long piece of wood so you can place it on the ground after it dries.  You need to place a bulb inside so people will see your lantern at night. You can also hang it from a ceiling by attaching some string to your lantern.

A great way to switch it up is to use a pumpkin or watermelon. Make sure to wear an apron! Cut the pumpkin or watermelon open and clean it out. You can use the contents to make a salad or some other treat so keep them if you want. Cut holes for the eyes, nose and mouth and place a candle inside. Decorate your porch or table with this Halloween lantern.  Fruit rots easily so make it the day before before Halloween for best results.

You can also make a paper Mache lantern. You will need a balloon, newspaper and paper Mache paste that is made from water, flour, craft glue and salt. Dip the newspaper strips into your glue and paste around the balloon after it is inflated. Let it dry overnight, then pop the balloon with a needle or pin. Crush the bottom a bit to make it stand and cut eyes, nose and mouth with craft scissors. Spray paint or paint whatever color you want. Light it with a battery operated light bulb, don’t ever use a candle. It could start a fire!

With the right materials, you can make any kind of Halloween lantern you want. Have fun!

Non Trick or Treating Party Ideas

If you’re a parent that doesn’t like the idea of letting your kids go trick or treating, there are still lots of alternatives to the task. All you need to do is find other ways for your kids to have fun during Halloween. You can find out if your local community or recreation center has any activities that would be fun for the kids. They may have activities such as a costume party so that the kids can dress up or many games that they can play. A great public place to go for trick or treating is the mall. Many shopping malls encourage their vendors to give treats during Halloween. There are also fun Halloween parades that the kids can watch and win fun prizes from as well. If you live in a small town or village, you’re sure to find a local dance or concert too.

You can take your kids to haunted houses sponsored by the local community. This usually consists of a decorated house that people can get good scares from when they visit. You can also host your own haunted house or Halloween party. You and your kids can spend quality time together decorating and creating the food. The invitations will be fun to make too. Really simple ideas for a spooky house are to download some creepy music on your mp3 player and put speakers around the house or buy some dry ice to make a foggy atmosphere for people when they approach your home.

You’ll have to make sure that you have good food and drinks because this can make or break a party. Plan a view games and activities that the guests can play. Bobbing for apples is a good one that all will enjoy. Pin the tail on the skeleton is always a game that kids love. Serve eyeball spaghetti and create some other Halloween themed foods and snacks like candied apples. Planning and hosting a Halloween party is a lot of work but the main idea is for the guests to be happy. Make sure to provide plenty of candy loot bags and thank your guests for coming.

Halloween Party

Halloween parties are so much fun. Organizing them can also be fun but it can also be challenging. You have to make sure you plan ahead so that you are prepared if something should go wrong. Kids have pretty short attention spans, so your party has to be exciting enough to keep them entertained and you still want to also stay on the theme of a little scare here and there. If you’re not careful the party can get pretty wild with so many kids in the same room. Planning makes perfect.

When dealing with a crowd of this sort at your Halloween party you want to try to encourage them to listen. You can do this by having them play party games that kids really find enjoyable. One good game to play with the kids is called Mummy Wrap. The game is pretty simple. You separate all of the kids into small groups and choose someone to be the mummy. On the count of three teams try to wrap their mummy the fastest. The team that wraps their mummy first is the winner. Musical chairs and freeze dance are more games that can be played. These are classics and kids love them. You can Halloween these games up by decorating the chairs like coffins and adding some cobwebs. Another great idea is to have a Halloween candy hunt which is just like an Easter egg hunt. Top it all off with scary story telling time. Just make sure it’s not too scary.

The easiest task is music for your Halloween party. Find great songs at your local music store or even better, on the internet. Give prizes to the kids that win by dancing the most ‘monstery.’ Always remember to give prizes to the winners of the games because this gets them excited about playing more games. Overall, giving a kids Halloween party is about making sure the kids have fun. The best thing of all is that you’ll have fun too!

Halloween Activity
I hate nothing more than crafts that take way too long. They aren’t fun and your children’s attention spans are not long enough to complete the project. The Halloween projects below are just a few ideas to get you started. They are short and easy and most of all, they are fun.

1. Pencil Characters

You can use these little characters at to bring out the Halloween fun in writing or you can use them on the antennae on your cars. Visit your local craft store to pick up a variety of Halloween-themed colors of flat fun foam. Draw an outline of your special Halloween character. You can outline a spider, a witch hat, a pumpkin, or a ghost. Make your outline approximately 4-inches by 3-inches wide. When your outline is done, cut out the shapes. Use a single hole punch to punch a hole approximately one inch from the top of the character and another hole approximately one inch from the bottom of the character. Decorate your character how you wish. If you use glue or paint, allow your character to dry thoroughly. Once dried, you can attach to your pencil or antenna. Simply place the bject through the bottom hole from the back to the front. Then place the pencil or antenna through the top hole, front to back.

2. Pumpkin Painting

Pumpkin carving is one of the most popular Halloween crafts for as long as anyone can remember. Let’s face it… it isn’t a craft in which our children can participate. For this reason, you and your child can adopt pumpkin painting. The activity takes less than one hour and you won’t have to exclude you small children from the fun. You can use markers, paints, tissue paper, newspaper and sealer. Your kids will love painting unusual, silly faces on their pumpkins. They can paint their favorite character, or Halloween design. The best part is that your pumpkin will last longer than a carved pumpkin because it will not rot as fast.

3. Watch Movies

Once the Trick or Treating is over, and the night is still young, flip on the tv to finish the night with a movie. Many tv stations dedicate the entire night to the holiday. You’ll find some truly scary movies and then you will find the almost comical classic horror films. Pop some popcorn and relax with Freddie, Jason, and or Michael.

4. Play Spooky Hide and Seek

Paying hide and seek is fun no matter what your age is. Having a spooky ghost, goblin or fairy sets the holiday off. No Halloween is complete until you have been chased by a monster.

5. Throw or Attend a Halloween Party

It’s not uncommon to receive several invitations to Halloween Parties. Why not attend one or have one of your own. You’ll have the time of your life and it fills time for the holiday. Some people are done early and wonder what they should do to finish off the night. What better way than having fun at a spook fest.
